A delightful feat for our bodyshop team thanks to the wonderful Jaguar XK120 we had the pleasure of working on with Guy Broad; the 2024 RAC Trophy winner is back on display at Hampton Court Palace this weekend for the 2025 Concours of Elegance. This wonderfully original Jaguar XK120 was subject to a sympathetic paint job; seamlessly blending our expert corrosion and bodywork repairs into the existing paint coating for a perfect paint finish and subsequently won an award at the 2024 Concours of Elegance event.
Commended for its originality, this example just goes to show how well our bodyshop performs. Our expert paint technicians have managed to carry out repairs over different areas of the vehicle without the judges of the Concours of Elegance events tracing the repairs. This is why Peacock Prestige are considered to be amongst the very best at Classic Car Painting in the whole of the UK, if not the world.
Sadly missing out on an award this year, also on display were some fantastic examples of classic and historic automobiles. The 2025 Concours of Elegance Best in Show winner was the 1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I ‘The Phantom of Love’. Other notable winners include the 1934 Packard 1108 Twelve Convertible Saloon for the Chairman’s Award and the 1994 Bugatti EB110 America for the Future Classics class.
The Concours of Elegance began at Windsor Castle in 2012, before moving to St James’s Palace in 2013, Hampton Court Palace in 2014, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh (His Majesty The King’s official residence in Scotland) in 2015 before returning to Windsor Castle in 2016 and Hampton Court Palace in 2017.
This vehicle is a great testament that our work clearly stands the test of time. The paint finish on this particular vehicle will allow it to be competitive in prestigious concours events like the Concours of Elegance for many years to come. Every Peacock Prestige project is built from the foundations up; the labour and expertise going into our resprays aren’t only surface deep.
